My Dear Alumni,
Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has long stood as a symbol of academic brilliance, innovation, and excellence across academics, sports, and scientific research. The University has been honoured with the prestigious distinction of “University with Potential for Excellence” by the University Grants Commission (UGC), reaffirming its commitment to quality education and impactful research. GNDU has also been accredited with the highest “A++” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) under its revised framework—an achievement that reflects our steadfast dedication to excellence in higher education.
More than twenty departments have been awarded significant grants from esteemed agencies such as UGC-SAP, DST-FIST, and PURSE, strengthening our research ecosystem and academic infrastructure. Over the years, the University has witnessed remarkable growth, earning national and international recognition for its outstanding contributions to higher education. Our journey has been guided by the vision of providing transformative education and fostering research that makes a meaningful impact.
The Alumni Association of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, was established in 2007 with the vision of nurturing lifelong connections between GNDU and its alumni. Our alumni have excelled in diverse fields and continue to bring pride to the University through their dedication, achievements, and professional excellence. Their expertise and experience are invaluable assets that can significantly contribute to the University’s sustained progress and future vision.
The Alumni Association aims to create vibrant opportunities for meaningful interaction among alumni, students, and faculty. Through seminars, networking events, mentoring sessions, and knowledge-sharing platforms, the Association fosters the exchange of insights and experiences. These interactions empower students with career guidance, mentorship, and professional exposure, helping them prepare for successful futures. Additionally, alumni play a crucial role in supporting placements, offering internships, and shaping students’ professional journeys.
Beyond academic collaboration, alumni have the opportunity to make a profound social impact. Financial contributions toward scholarships for economically disadvantaged students can help ensure that deserving individuals are not deprived of educational opportunities. Alumni support can also bolster University initiatives such as lecture series, research activities, hostel development, guest house construction, sports facilities, and community outreach programmes. By championing such causes, alumni extend GNDU’s mission of inclusivity, service, and social responsibility.

Message from Vice-President (Overseas)
It is a great honour and privilege to serve as the Vice-President (Overseas) of the Alumni Association Guru Nanak Dev University (AAGNDU) for a second term. While it is a matter of immense pride to serve our esteemed Alma Mater, it also brings with it a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to contribute meaningfully to its continued progress. Since its establishment in 1969, Guru Nanak Dev University has excelled in academics, research, and sports, earning recognition as an institution of excellence by India’s national accreditation agencies. The University has also expanded its global footprint through international collaborations and Memoranda of Understanding with several prestigious universities and institutions.
Established in 2007, AAGNDU has grown significantly and now has active Alumni Chapters in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Many of our alumni have achieved remarkable success in their respective fields and are settled across the world—distinguished entrepreneurs, acclaimed academicians, and respected professionals in leading global industries. The primary objective of the Association is to strengthen the bond between alumni, faculty, and students, thereby fostering a vibrant academic and research ecosystem. It encourages alumni to share their expertise and professional experiences by engaging in interactive sessions that guide and inspire current students in their career journeys and placement opportunities.
The University remains committed to providing quality education, equal opportunities, and a healthy campus environment to all students, regardless of their financial background. Achieving this noble mission requires additional financial support. Therefore, it should be our collective endeavour to stand with our Alma Mater in this worthy cause. I earnestly appeal to all alumni to join hands in supporting scholarships for underprivileged students, developing research facilities, and strengthening University infrastructure. Every contribution—whether large or modest—can make a meaningful difference in shaping the future of deserving students. At present, we are able to accept donations only in Indian currency; however, the University is actively pursuing Government of India approval to receive contributions in foreign currency as well.
